Bondi Beach Playgroups

Parents and carers of children aged five and under can meet other local families at volunteer-run, not-for-profit playgroups. Sessions take place at venues in Wairoa Avenue and Francis Street in Bondi Beach and at nearby Vaucluse. Weekly arrangements depend on volunteer availability, so contact the group at bondibeachplaygroups@gmail.com before attending.

Waverley Library Children’s Library and kids’ programs

The designated Children’s Library in Bondi Junction offers children’s resources and free regular programs spanning babies through to HSC students. Families can check the current program to find an age-appropriate activity. An accessibility social story is available to help neurodiverse children and others prepare for a visit. Bondi Nippers

Children aged five to under 14 can build surf awareness and beach and water skills through Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club’s junior program. Sunday activities include wading, running, board paddling, swimming and flags from October to March. The 2026–27 season is scheduled for 18 October 2026 to 21 March 2027, although registrations are currently closed. Parents and carers are expected to volunteer during the season.

North Bondi Nippers

North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club runs Sunday morning Nippers for children aged five to 14, generally from early October to March. Age-group activities cover surf lifesaving, shallow wading, swimming, board paddling, beach running and flags. Importantly, Nippers is not a learn-to-swim program; families are encouraged to organise swimming lessons separately.

Toon Creations Bondi Studio Holiday Programs

School-holiday drawing workshops at 16 Francis Street, Bondi Beach, combine cartooning with games and themed creative activities. The published spring 2026 program includes cartooning and themed creative days, with dates, session times and prices varying by workshop. The Hive Bondi Beach Holiday Program

Based at Bondi Beach Public School, The Hive provides holiday care for the school’s students and other local primary-school-aged children up to 12. Children need an approved Hive enrolment before a holiday booking can be made. The program generally operates during school breaks, excluding public holidays and a two-to-three-week closure over December and January. Excursions require specific parental permission. Bondi Before & After School Care (BASC)

This not-for-profit, community-run service at Bondi Public School offers before-school, after-school and vacation care for school-aged children. Permanent places are available, while casual bookings depend on space. Published hours are 7.30 am–9 am before school, 3 pm–6 pm after school and 8 am–6 pm during vacation care. Waverley Council Early Education Centres

Waverley Council operates Bronte, Gardiner, Mill Hill and Waverley early education centres for children aged five and under. They provide extended operating hours across 49 weeks for working families, with one waitlist covering all four centres. Published inclusions include meals, parenting classes, one-to-one counselling and access to in-house family support. Eligible families may receive Child Care Subsidy.

Eastern Suburbs Child and Family Health Service

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District lists a Child and Family Health location at Wairoa Avenue, on the corner of Brighton Boulevard in Bondi Beach. Appointments are arranged centrally by phoning 1300 244 288.

Active OT 4 Kids

This Bondi Junction paediatric occupational therapy practice supports children from birth to 18 with social, emotional and functional skill development. Options include individual assessment and therapy, parent or carer coaching, and selected group or outdoor therapy programs. No referral is required. The practice advises that rebates or funding may be available through pathways including relevant NDIS and Medicare arrangements. Springtide Psychology

Springtide is a fee-for-service child, adolescent and young adult psychology practice for people aged five to 30 and their families. Waverley residents with children aged birth to five can seek support with family stress or crisis. The liaison provides counselling, information, advocacy, referrals, family education programs and casework, and can assist with priority access to Council early education centres for children with additional needs. Bondi Beach Cottage Women’s Counselling and Support

Adult women across metropolitan Sydney who are affected by domestic and family violence can access free, confidential counselling and casework. The service also supports women in the Eastern Suburbs who face barriers to clinical mental health care. No Medicare card or visa is required. Occasional childcare may be available for immunised children aged birth to five while their mothers attend counselling. Parent Line NSW

Parents and carers anywhere in NSW, including Bondi Beach and surrounds, can call for free telephone counselling and support concerning children aged birth to 18. Trained counsellors are available from 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 4 pm to 9 pm on weekends. The service is closed on public holidays. Phone 1300 1300 52.
